Fan Girl Road Trip: A Supernatural Rewatch Podcast

We are pulling over for a quick update on the rest of the season and beyond! 

Well, we've done vampires. We've done ghosts. We've done demons. What's a big supernatural thing we haven't yet run into? That's right everybody, it's time to howl at the moon and rip out some hearts - we're talking werewolves. Well, kind of. Not a single 'wolf' to be seen in this episode. But they promise, it's werewolves. Will dad's ramblings in his journal actually be helfpul this time? Will Sam finally get to hang out with the girl and have it not be miserable and tragic? Spoiler alert- no to both! 

The winding roads on the way to Lake Tahoe can be a very dangerous place - especially if you’re husband distracts you while driving and a random man is in the middle of the road for no damn reason. This week the boys take on a case that asks them to confront what happens to ghosts when they move on. Are ghosts inherently evil because they’re trapped on earth? Or are some just lost souls accidentally causing problems big enough to summon the Winchesters? 

Ghost stories? Alien abuductions? Killer crocs?! Genuinely what is happening in this episode? The boys aren't sure what's going on either as they have to call in Bobby for backup for this case. A new face that becomes a very familiar one in the not too distant future makes his first apperance as the trickster, Sam and Dean are fighting like an old married couple, and a man slow dances to Lady in Red with an area 51 style life form. Let's roll! 

Uhoh, where's Sammy?! He's taken off and apparently lost his mind. With no memory of the past week and blood on his hands, he's ready to leave this cruel world behind but Dean is much more ready to just accept that sometimes his little brother kills people now. No biggy, we can deal with it. It's the return of a fan favorite character in the form of Sam Winchester, a quick check in on Jo Harvelle, and Bobby's paranoia all in one episode!

And the good lord said unto them, take vengeance on the wicked. Or maybe he said grab a knife and do a murder. It's all a little unclear in this episode, where we are teased with the idea of angels for the very first time. Are they real, and are they among us telling certain downtrodden folks to take out evil single-handedly. Sam thinks they very well might be, while Dean ain't hearing it. Time for some divine intervention. 

WANTED: Dean and Sam Winchester. Their crimes? Too numerous to count at this point. Most recently? Involvement in a hostage situation at a Milwaukee bank. But of course, not everything is at it appears. The boys, as well as an incredible guest star convinced they're dealing with a Mandroid, have a run in with a shapeshifter turned bank robber. Hot on their tails is an FBI agent with a particular vendettta against the Winchesters. Jam packed with fun performanced, digusting goo, and an iconic needledrop, this episode has it all! 

The kids are not alright! In fact, one of the kids might very well not be a real kid at all. But one thing is for certain - they're playing with creepy dolls! At least the house is nice, right? 

Sam Winchester has decided enough is enough! He needs to figure out what is going on with his destiny, why he is getting all of these weird visions, and what it all means. His plan? Find the other demon babies that aren't dead yet. He leaves Dean in the dust and meets a lovely fellow demon baby to partner up with, but they are twarted by the return of a man with a deeply personal vendetta (despite his claims to the contrary). How do the boys get out of this one? 

One of history's most enduring mysteries is the basis of this week's epsiode. Kind of. Mostly not, but like the idea is there. Sam and Dean are headed to Oregon (not Virginia, to be clear) to finally uncover the secrets of the missing Roanoake colony! With the power of dad's journal and a random thought he once had, the boys sort of get to the bottom of what happened to the people of Roanoke. Except not at all because nobody knows a damn thing in this episode. It's got some jokes, though. So there's that!
