Fan Girl Road Trip: A Supernatural Rewatch Podcast

One of history's most enduring mysteries is the basis of this week's epsiode. Kind of. Mostly not, but like the idea is there. Sam and Dean are headed to Oregon (not Virginia, to be clear) to finally uncover the secrets of the missing Roanoake colony! With the power of dad's journal and a random thought he once had, the boys sort of get to the bottom of what happened to the people of Roanoke. Except not at all because nobody knows a damn thing in this episode. It's got some jokes, though. So there's that! 

What would be worth giving up your soul for? Fame? Fortune? A loved one? This is the question Sam and Dean must face as they head down to Mississippi and encounter some hotshots who may have needed some help from the other side to acheive success. But now, ten years later, the bill has come due. The demon is coming to collect. And a deal is a deal. 

Interrogations, ugly necklaces and a very special guest star! Big city crimes are afoot! Instead of heading towards California to rescue Katie Holmes from Scientology (what an alternate episode that could have been), the boys decide to stick their noses where they don't belong and end up right in the middle of an all time mom v. daughter argument between Ellen and Jo. This path leads them to the second coming of the H.H. Holmes murder hotel, this time accepting new residents in Philadelphia instead of Chicago. Jo steps into the spotlight, while Sam takes a real back seat until someone needs to instantly recognize a very old serial killer's legal name on sight. College boy strikes again! 

Have you ever thought about what you would do if the world suddenly seemed to bend to your will? If asking for something always meant you got it, and you could get away with just about anything? Would you choose to live in a van down by the river with a polar bear and a barbarian woman painted on the side? Because this week the boys meet up with the one man on earth who seemingly would do that with all that power at his finger tips. And to be honest? He rules. The yellow-eyed demon's influence makes a stunning return in an episode full of ridiculous twists, shockingly unsettling moments, and Andy. Lots of Andy. 

Today we are heading to a college town full of classic college problems. Guy friends in the friend zone, boyfriends cheating on their lady with their roomate. And zombies! You know how sometimes your college campus has a corpse raised from the dead walking around getting revenge? College sure is crazy, isn't it? 

The vamps are back, sooner than we remembered! This time the show is going to make an effort to convince the audience that vampires are not all evil or dangerous, and it's not going to try all that hard to do it. Gordon the Vampire Hunter joins the boys for a battle of morality which mostly just has us questioning - are these even really vampires? 

A PSA to all parents and children; clowns are NOT inherently your friend. Please do not tell children the blanket statement that clowns are their friend. We cannot be letting clowns into our homes in the middle of the night based on bad advice given to children. 

The boys are back, and so are we! We hit the ground running in Season 2 Episode 1, which picks up right where we left off in last season's finale. Confusing deleted scenes, a sexy scar on Dean's face that kinda moves around, and the liminal space between life and death await. Let's hit the road (as soon as they fix the Impala)!
